A group of pilgrims on a long trek decide to pass the time by holding a contest to see who can tell the best tale. Will it be the Wife of Bath with her story of a knight on a quest to find the one answer that can save his life? Does the prize go to the Miller for his tale of young lovers conspiring to elude the watchful eye of the lady's jealous husband? Or will the travelers favor the Pardoner who tells of 3 brothers who set out to rid the world of Death, only to find there are far worse things?
