"Off We Go.... Into
the Wild Blue Yonder"
Brevard
Theatrical Ensemble wishes to thank Walter Kiely
for graciously sharing his pictures of our Story
Tellers
at the Florida Spaceport Chapter 99s May
(2007) event at the
Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum.
We
had such a grand time entertaining the real
lady pilots in attendance
and many thanks to Bobbi Lasher for inviting us!

"If a woman wants
to fly, first of all she must, of course,
abandon skirts
and don a knickerbocker uniform."
There are Rules and there are Laws. The rules are made
by men
who think that they know better how to fly your
airplane than you.
The Laws (of Physics) were made by
God. You can, and sometimes should,
suspend the rules
but you can never suspend the Laws,
however women have
been pushing them right to the edge!

"There is a world-old controversy
that crops up
whenever women attempt to enter a new
field.
Is a woman fit for that work?
It would seem that
a woman's success in any particular field would
prove
her fitness for that work, without regard to theories to
the contrary."

"I could never tell where
inspiration begins and impulse leaves off.
I suppose the
answer is in the outcome. If your hunch proves a good
one,
you were inspired; if it proves bad, you are guilty
of yielding to thoughtless impulse."

Helen Snapp, who attended our show, was
good friends with her!)

"After midnight the moon set and
I was alone with the stars.
I have often said that the
lure of flying is the lure of beauty,
and I need no
other flight to convince me that the reason flyers fly,
whether they know it or not, is the esthetic appeal of
flying"
